Why is my HOPE GPA different from my Overall GPA?

High School GPA: The HOPE GPA contains all coursework for English, math, science, social studies and foreign language in the High School curriculum. Elective courses may not be calculated into the HOPE GPA. The overall GPA for High School students takes all courses into consideration.

College GPA: The HOPE GPA includes the following: learning support courses and remedial courses that were taken prior to fall 2011, independent study courses, and repeated courses (if a grade was “forgiven” by GSU it is still included in the HOPE GPA). The overall GPA includes all coursework but will not include grades that have been "forgiven" by GSU due to repeating courses.
